Some governors in Nigeria mostly from South South, South East and South West alleged that the new minimum wage approved for workers is too much for them to pay. They also said that any agreement reached between Labour Union and the federal government of Nigeria to pay the minimum wage of thirty thousand Naira (N30,000) is not binding to them as governors. Based on that, we (Viewers Corner News team) are calling on those governors to either pay workers that minimum wage or resign from office so that those who know the importance of paying the minimum wage to workers would take over from them. This attitude of not paying workers the new minimum wage is coming mostly from South South, South East and South West part of the country (Nigeria). In the northern part of the country (Nigeria), some governors have already started paying the new minimum wage to workers which put them ahead as better leaders than the South South, South East and South West governors. We (Viewers Corner News team) would also use this opportunity to plead with voters in Nigeria to think properly before casting their votes for any would be governor because before and during elections, they will pretend to be very good but immediately they win and sworn into office as governors, all their promises would be thrown into a trash box. We (Viewers Corner News team) shall continue to educate and guide voters in Nigeria during elections so that those who have ears can hear and make good decisions on who to cast their votes for because some of those governors in Nigeria you stood under the sun and rain to cast your votes for are nothing but manipulators, very corrupt and have no human sympathy. They only need your votes to enrich themselves and their families, hence we (Viewers Corner News team) are advising everyone to be more careful when casting their votes. The federal government of Nigeria pays those governors huge money as allocation on monthly basis for their states which is more than enough to run the affairs of their various states but greed, selfishness and corruption will not allow them to do their jobs properly. If not, what is thirty thousand Naira (N30,000) compared to the take-home of every governor in Nigeria. When it comes to the welfare of their people, all sorts of negative stories will come in which is bad. This is peanut and if those governors are not wicked and selfish, they should be able to pay workers the new minimum wage and still be left with huge amount of money to run the affairs of their various states. Again, the internal generated revenues which is under the control of the governors are there, so why are some of these governors still dragging this new minimum wage of thirty thousand Naira (N30,000) till now? Please pay it or resign.
