Viewers Corner’s correspondent was informed recently that Governor Rochas okorocha of Imo state has approved 600 million naira (N600,000,000) for Christmas decoration in his state, Viewers Corner calls this approval a reckless and careless spending which is not right. Our (Viewers Corner) survey carried out in Imo state recently revealed that the hardship is so much in the state and some workers have not been paid their monthly salaries for some months. Why would Governor Rochas want to spend 600 million naira on Christmas decoration alone? This does not show good leadership.
Again, no matter what we do, the people who voted us to power should come first because without them, you will never be there. That is why Viewers Corner regard them (Voters) as king makers, so it is the responsibility of every leader to take care of them first. If they are comfortable, then every other aspect would follow suit. Therefore, our advice to Governor Rochas Okorocha is that he should pay all the outstanding salaries to his state workers before thinking of Christmas decoration in the state. Let the workers be comfortable first. As the Governor of Imo state, you owe them that duty because that is why they voted for you to lead them and always remember that there is reward for whatever good thing we do in this world to assist a fellow human being.
Once again, Viewers Corner is pleading to Governor Rochas Okorocha not to be carried away by worldly things, use your monthly allocations and your internally generated revenue from the state to create better conditions for all the people of Imo state, pay them their salaries as when due. They voted for you to lead them because they trust your judgement so do not fail them.
