In marking the 55th Nigeria independence anniversary in Anambra state, governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state (Nigeria) has granted state pardon to 25 prisoners in the three prisons in Anambra state.
The prisoners who were in Awka prison, Onitsha prison and Nnewi prison were also given one million naira each by the benevolent governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state. Governor Willie Obiano who supervised the handing over of pardon on prisoners in the state by himself said that the one million naira given to each of these freed prisoners will help to empower and re-integrate them into the society so that they will be able to fend for themselves. Sixteen prisoners were released in Onitsha Prisons, four prisoner in Nnewi prison and five inmates regained their freedom in Awka prison. Viewers Corner applaud governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state for his benevolent heart and we also advise these inmates that regained their freedom to be of good behaviour as good citizens of Nigeria. They should make proper use of these money given to them by governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state (Nigeria).
