The issue of Almajiri breeds poverty anywhere such system is being practised. Though some of those who spoke to Viewers Corner News correspondent in Abuja (Nigeria) said that it is their culture which has been in existence for so many years and should remain so but then if you study the system of Almajiri very carefully, one would understand that it is parental irresponsibility. In our (Viewers Corner News team) opinion, no one would like to bring a child to this world and send him at a tender age to go and start begging or put the child in a school where good things of life are not taught. Yes it could be a culture as they claimed, but such culture of making babies and sending them out to start begging or abandon them somewhere to fend for themselves is very wrong. Now hear this; if you know that you can not take care of a child, please do not make any. We (Viewers Corner News team) have written a similar article on Almajiri in the past and now we are doing so. We (Viewers Corner News team) applaud governor El-rufai of Kaduna state (Nigeria) on the decision he made concerning this issue which he put penalty of fine or a prison term for those who would disobey this directive. If you look at the northern part of Nigeria today, the Almajiris are so many. Such system like we (Viewers Corner News team) stated earlier in this article breeds poverty and backwardness in the country (Nigeria), but now that governor EL-Rufai of Kaduna state (Nigeria) and other governors from the northern part of Nigeria are stepping up to find solution to end such ugly system in the country (Nigeria) by sending those children to good schools where they can learn proper ways of life, honestly in no time they would grow up to become great children of tomorrow which is the wish of every parent. Again, proper education will end poverty in the country (Nigeria) which we (Viewers Corner News team) shall always encourage parents to give to their children.
