Viewers Corner News team is calling on the federal government of Nigeria to look into what is happening in Ebonyi state (Nigeria). We (Viewers Corner News team) have written articles in the past concerning the way governor David Umahi is recklessly victimizing the people of Ebonyi state (Nigeria) and paying no attention to their welfare which is not fair. First, the Cargo airport governor David Umahi is proposing to build in Ebonyi state may be a scam, which is another way he has formulated to embezzle billions of money for himself and his associates. This is because the alleged project would be under-construction till his tenure of office ends in 2023 and as a result of this scam, it has led to the destruction of various properties in Ebonyi state (Nigeria) without compensation being paid to the affected people. Again, the new market (Margaret Umahi International Market) which governor David Umahi renamed after his late mother and fixed the price of each shop there at four million Naira is too expensive for the traders to pay. As a democratic leader, we (Viewers Corner News team) expected governor David Umahi to dialogue with the traders and see how a solution can be found, instead he told the traders who are mostly non indigenes to either move to the new market which is not easily accessible to the ordinary people of Ebonyi state or leave the state completely. Based on this, Viewers Corner News team is calling on governor David Umahi to leave the traders in the old market (Abakpa Main Market) which they have been using before he came to office as the governor of Ebonyi state (Nigeria) because the location of the old market is well accessible to everyone and also it is a historical market based on our findings. Almost everyone in Ebonyi state and south east as a whole know perfectly well that the revenue coming from the old market has assisted the past governments including governor David Umahi’s government immensely to raise money. Another important issue which we (Viewers Corner News team) want President Buhari’s government to look into in Ebonyi state and bring to a stop is the issue of alleged killings by bandits from Agila (Benue state). The bad policy of governor David Umahi’s government contributed to the insecurity in that area, such attacks by bandits from neighbouring state which led to the killings of some Ebonyi state people would have been controlled or stopped completely if governor David Umahi cherish the lives of Ebonyi state people. We (Viewers Corner News team) are also working on a report which would be published later on issues of land disputes between the Agila people from Benue state and Ebonyi state people, which has led to loss of innocent lives. We (Viewers Corner News team) expected governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state to pay more attention to this land dispute so as to bring a peaceful solution on how to solve the problem and not asking the non indigenes to return back to their states. Such reckless statement is wrong and should be condemned completely.
