Right from the very first day a good leader assumes office, he or she carefully maps out a program that would be of benefit to the state and also to the country (Nigeria) in general. It is rather too unfortunate that governor David Umahi starting from the day he became the governor of Ebonyi state, instead of working for the betterment of the people of his state, he turned around and became a terror to them. All the good things he promised them during the 2015 campaign were thrown into a trash box despite all the appeal made by various people to create a condition that would favour the people of his state (Ebonyi state) which he practically refused to do. Governor David Umahi does not care about the welfare of the ordinary people of Ebonyi state (Nigeria), he works to satisfy his family and few of his close associates while majority of the people of Ebonyi state remain in abject poverty which is bad.
He (governor David Umahi) placed taxes on almost every thing in Ebonyi state (Nigeria), making it very difficult for people to survive. Salaries of workers in Ebonyi state are not paid in full, pensioners’ allowances are not paid. In Nigeria, it is only governor David Umahi’s administration that have no permanent Secretaries till today, so that most dirty issues within various ministries in Ebonyi state would be under his reach and control. All the advice given to governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state (Nigeria) to better the lives of the people of his state were completely ignored.
In Ebonyi state, he (governor David Umahi) created a direct labour system which his brothers and few of his close associates are using to obtain and execute contracts in the state, thereby making it very difficult for contractors in the state (Ebonyi state) to survive. This is wickedness in the highest order. Those who advised governor David Umahi to get things done the right way so that the people of the state can benefit from his government were pushed to the wall and now he has seen that the people of Ebonyi state are no longer interested in his leadership, he trickishly changed by allegedly reducing taxes in the state because election is few months ahead.
We (Viewers Corner News team) would want to remind governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state that majority of the people of his state have already made up their minds that he can not lead them anymore, because the pains he created in his first tenure which is about to end will not let them vote for him again. Enough is Enough. The great people of Ebonyi state believe that the answer to the problems in Ebonyi state shall be solved by the progressives come 2019, hence they have decided not to go governor David Umahi’s way because it is misleading.
