We (Viewers Corner News team) have written article in the past on this topic and we are doing it again. There are few Igbo groups from southeast who are promoting governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state and Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu who is the minister of science and technology of Nigeria so that any of them can become the president of Nigeria come 2023 after president Buhari’s tenure ends. These Igbo groups are pushing for Igbo president as they call it. Now hear the truth; based on our (Viewers Corner News team) findings, governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state or Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu can not make a good president of Nigeria. The Igbo ethnic group in Nigeria which we (Viewers Corner News team) have studied for years has great individuals to mount the leadership position of Nigeria assuming the Igbos are called upon to present a candidate for such job by any political party in Nigeria, certainly not governor David Umahi or Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu. The only good individual among those names some few Igbo groups are promoting is Mr. Rotimi Amaechi (minister of transport in Nigeria). He is a great leader with vision and focus. When Mr. Rotimi Amaechi was the governor of Rivers state, he did well in so many areas of development most especially in education and now that he is the minister of transport in Nigeria, he is also doing a great job. If such a man (Mr Rotimi Amaechi) is made the president of Nigeria, there would be great changes in the economy of the country (Nigeria). Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state destroyed the good educational policy of ex-governor Sam Egwu. When ex-governor Sam Egwu was the governor of Ebonyi state, he laid a good foundation for everyone in Ebonyi state to have sound education which is the key to whatever every human seeks in life. The state (Ebonyi) was neglected in the past which ex-governor Sam Egwu did his best to upgrade but unfortunately when governor David Umahi came to office, most good things for the people of Ebonyi state which ex-governor Sam Egwu brought were thrown into the trash box. Corruption and victimisation of those who would correct him became governor David Umahi’s system of government which he is still practising till today. No one can challenge him because if you do, he would send his boys after you. Lots of money have been borrowed by governor David Umahi and his government which makes Ebonyi state among the debt owing states in Nigeria. Up till now, only few projects were executed and the rest money can not be accounted for. Not too long ago, governor David Umahi had issues with Professor Bernard Odoh concerning the agricultural loan which runs into billions of Naira and no one knows the truth about that loan which we (Viewers Corner News team) are digging harder to find out the truth. There are so many negative issues which make governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state unfit to lead Nigeria, such a man can never be the choice of the Igbos. The same goes to Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu (minister of science and technology) who can not be trusted at all. Since he became the minister of science and technology of Nigeria, what has he achieved so far for the country? The answer is nothing when compared to other science and technology ministers of other nations of the world, therefore such man can not be the choice of the Igbos. Those few Igbo groups who suggested governor David Umahi and Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu should better have a think on their decision. Again, the Igbos have great individuals with outstanding profiles, sound in thinking who can move Nigeria forward which we (Viewers Corner News team) are appealing to Igbo ethnic group to do their home work properly so that they could find those individuals with fine qualities and present them to the people of Nigeria. Do not be in a hurry to bring someone who may not have anything to offer the people of Nigeria. Mr. Allen Onyema, the Air Peace chairman is a great man in Igbo land with fine profile. A man like that can use his business ability to turn Nigeria around for good if he is giving the opportunity to lead the country (Nigeria). Such people are needed to lead Nigeria at this pressing time and not politicians without knowledge of how to attract great things to the country (Nigeria). All what Nigerian politicians know is corruption, how to enrich themselves and their associates while other Nigerians remain in abject poverty.
