We (Viewers corner News team) have been speaking and at the same time writing articles concerning the way and manner government businesses work in Nigeria, both the senate and the state houses of assembly in the country (Nigeria) lack the wisdom and knowledge to lead the people of Nigeria to glory. The worst aspect is that some of these individuals in national and state assembly in Nigeria are believed to be educated, one thing is going to school to acquire all the necessary qualifications and another is putting them in use to benefit the purpose for which that particular qualification was meant for. However in our next article, we shall discuss in detail for those who would want to listen and learn how government businesses should be conducted to achieve success. Our (Viewers Corner News team) main discussion here is concerning the terrible things happening in Ebonyi state. Recently a total of 1.7 billion Naira was approved for governor David Umahi by the Ebonyi state house of assembly to enable him buy Xmas gifts for people in the state. To some extent, Christmas period is always known to everyone around the world as a period to share love, gifts and making sure that everyone is well cared for and as Christians, this is part of our duty provided it is done nicely but this is not the case here. Governor David Umahi who is staging a political re-election bid is using these gifts to pave his way so that when his first tenure ends, he would be re-elected to office in 2019. This is the motive behind these gifts and he is working with the YES YES members of the Ebonyi state house of assembly to get his fake agendas carried out but believe it or not, he has already failed. Our question now is this, why would governor David Umahi buy 18 Prado jeeps for the traditional rulers at this point when people in various ministries across Ebonyi state have not been paid their full salaries? He was heard singing that he has been able to pay up to 13th month salary to workers in the state but the truth is that governor David Umahi only paid 40 percent of the workers’ salaries as the 13th month salary and not full workers’ salaries as he made people believed. Up till now in Ebonyi state, no leave allowance and gratuities of those that retired have been paid but he has bought 18 Prado Jeeps for gifts to traditional rulers in the state and more powerful Jeeps would be delivered to him (governor David Umahi) soonest. This is impunity and no one is talking about it. This 1.7 billion Naira governor David Umahi is spending carelessly and recklessly at this recession period would go a long way in creating infrastructures for the people of Ebonyi state or even settle the whole salary arrears including pensioners’ allowances but governor David Umahi chose not to do so, instead he resorted to buying Jeeps for those who do not need them. This is total mismanagement of Ebonyi state funds and should be condemned.
Another terrible aspect where Ebonyi state hard earned money is being wasted is the employment of about 200 Special Assistants on Technical, some of these individuals governor David Umahi employed are touts without any knowledge of how government works and based on our findings, governor David Umahi has concluded plans to install them in various wards awaiting the 2019 governorship election in Ebonyi state. He is doing all these to ensure that he does not lose the next election. We want to remind him that as he is busy planning his hidden agenda, he will always be exposed so that the good people of Ebonyi state would not make a second mistake to vote for David Umahi. Umahi’s government is only for those that understand his language (corruption), Ebonyians need another governor that would be there for all the people in the state certainly not governor David Umahi and no matter the gift he may have given to the traditional rulers in the state, it can never make him win the second tenure. Again during the course of paying the so called 13th month salary, instead of paying the salary into the workers’ bank accounts, governor David Umahi asked the workers to go to their various ministry headquarters to collect the money. This would show us the level of intelligence of those that are leading our people and now this governor (David Umahi) would want Ebonyians to re-elect him come 2019 when his first tenure is already a living hell. Viewers Corner News learned that some of those that were coming from Ikwo had fatal accident and two people died while many were seriously injured. If he had paid their salaries directly into their various bank accounts, most probably such unfortunate incident would have been avoided. May the souls of those who were trying to go and collect what rightfully belonged to them and died on the process rest in peace. It is very important for Ebonyi state people not to re-elected David Umahi as the governor of the state come 2019 because he does not care about them. No infrastructural facilities, no youth empowerment, hunger everywhere in the state, all contracts in Ebonyi state are being executed by his family members alone through his fake direct labour system so that he can pocket the gains alone which is wrong. Ebonyi state needs an open system which is government of the people. Surprisingly governor David Umahi is losing grip of his good friend Babachir David Lawal who is the secretary to the government of the federation, this man has lots of corruption allegation tied round his neck and may be on his way out of president Buhari’s government very soon and this might have led governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State to start hunting for new friends at the federal level in Abuja. The few ones he found were allegedly given some cash gifts which they rejected, these are big names in Nigeria. The interesting part is that those gifts from governor David Umahi to them were rejected and we quite commend their efforts for doing so. This is patriotism, even the APC national Chairman was allegedly given 20 million Naira and 100 bags of rice by governor David Umahi which he also rejected. This is unbelievable, what would an individual who is not a rice seller be doing with 100 bags of rice? Rotimi Amaechi also rejected governor David Umahi’s gift and many others did the same too as alleged.
