Soludo

Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State, Nigeria, should make it simpler for pensioners to always get their allowances, like it was before he came to office as governor of Anambra State.

Some pensioners in Anambra state of Nigeria who spoke to a Viewers Corner News correspondent complained that since governor Charles Soludo became the governor of Anambra state, getting their pension has become stressful compared to how it was when ex-governors Peter Obi and Willie Obiano were in office. These pensioners said that in the past, their pension allowances would go directly into their bank accounts without stress, but today, they will have to go to some offices to fill out so many forms, things they have not been doing in the past. Again, filling out these forms does not mean that they will get their pension allowances immediately. All these things are so stressful for these elders, who have worked for so many years and are now retired. The Viewers Corner News team is appealing to Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State to review his policy on this issue and allow the pensioners in Anambra State to have their money without having to go from one office to another. These are elderly men and women who should receive their pension allowances with ease, like it was before you became the governor of Anambra State. Again, the Viewers Corner News team pleads with governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State to review his tax policies to ensure that they are not something that would be a burden to the people of Anambra State. Let those with sources of income pay taxes, and those without any sources of income should have a better way of contributing to the state; it should not be a do-or-die affair. A flexible, level playing field for tax collection that would not hurt the people of Anambra State is what we are preaching for. We also believe that, as an economist, you will look into these issues and have them sorted out to suit the people of your state nicely.
