GOVERNOR ADAMS OSHIOMHOLE OF EDO STATE IS DOING NICELY BUT MORE NEEDS TO BE DONE, HIS GOVERNMENT INHERITED LOTS OF OUTSTANDING PENSION BURDENS WHEN HE TOOK OVER FROM THE PAST GOVERNMENT.

Viewers Corner News team had a working tour in Edo state recently, we found that the past government before governor Oshiomhole took over the mantle of leadership in the state (Edo state) did not do enough for the state. The worst aspect was that of payment of the pensions which was terribly bad but governor Oshiomhole did his best by trying to pay part of the arrears of those Seniors (Pensioners) which the past government ignored, it was a huge problem. Our question is this, why would any functional government ignore the senior citizens (Pensioners) in his state by not paying their allowances? How do you want them to survive?
These are individuals who worked throughout their lives and when it comes to paying them their allowances then politics sets in. This is a sin against God Almighty and also humanity, though governor Oshiomhole tried but some outstanding bills is still yet to be paid based on what we found out. Hopefully before governor Oshiomhole leaves office, he would settle some of the outstanding bills the state owed the Seniors (Pensioners).
Another painful aspect is that some of these Seniors are dead based on our (Viewers Corner News) findings, frustration and stress contributed to why these Seniors died, this is pitiful and very sad. Again none payment of allowances to Nigerian Seniors (Pensioners) is also happening in almost every state of the country (Nigeria) therefore Viewers Corner News and the advisory team is appealing to every state government in the country (Nigeria) to kindly pay the Seniors (Pensioners) their arrears and also paying them punctually. This is their right and not negotiable, the Nigerian Seniors (Pensioners) deserve to be happy. Please let their pension allowances be paid as at when due and if they are not paid on time, how would they survive at this old age?
Please assist them in whichever way possible, this is what every government owes them as senior citizens of the country. Again not doing so would be regarded as a sin before God Almighty so act now and stop playing politics with the allowances of Nigerian Seniors (Pensioners).
