GOTABAYA RAJAPAKSA, FORMER SRI LANKA’S DEFENCE CHIEF HAS WON THE COUNTRY’S PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, CONGRATULATIONS.

Viewers Corner News correspondent in Colombo (Sri Lanka) reported that the country’s former defence chief, Gotabaya Rajapaksa has won Sri Lanka presidential election held on Saturday, 16 November 2019. Gotabaya Rajapaksa who promised during the campaign to provide strong leadership and improve national security defeated Sajith Premadasa, the ruling party candidate. Sri Lanka’s Election Commission declared Gotabaya Rajapaksa winner on Sunday with 52.25 percent of the vote. Sajith Premadasa has conceded defeat and congratulated the President-elect (Gotabaya Rajapaksa). The oath of office will be taken by Gotabaya Rajapaksa on Monday, 18 November in the central town of Anuradhapura, an ancient Sinhala Buddhist heritage site.
