GERMANY WINS GOLD MEDAL BY DEFEATING SWEDEN IN WOMEN’S OLYMPIC SOCCER FINAL IN RIO 2016.

Germany has won gold in women’s Olympic soccer final by defeating Sweden 2-1 in Rio de Janeiro on Friday, August 19, 2016. Dzsenifer Marozsan of Germany scored the first goal in the 48th minute and Linda Sembrant (Swedish defender) mistakenly scored on Sweden’s goal post in the 62nd minute. In the 67th of the match, Stina Blackstenius of Sweden scored against Germany but it wasn’t enough for Sweden to get equalizer at the Maracana Stadium.
This is Germany’s first football gold medal in women’s Olympic soccer, in 2000, 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games, the German women team won bronze medal but they did not qualify in 2012. Also this is Sweden first time of winning silver medal in women’s football.
