GERMAN OFFICIALS HAVE IDENTIFIED A MAN WHO TOOK 14 PEOPLE HOSTAGE AT KINOPOLIS, A MULTIPLEX CINEMA IN GERMANY.


On Thursday, June 23, 2016, a masked gunman took four cinema employees and 14 customers including children hostage at  Kinopolis, a multiplex cinema that is located in a shopping mall in Viernheim, near the city of Mannheim (Germany). The gunman was later shot dead by German police and German officials said that they have identified the gunman. According to the information Viewers Corner News correspondent gathered, the gunman is a 19-year-old German man who lived in northern Germany. The German officials also said that the gunman entered the Cinema with pistol and a rifle with no live cartridges and that no motive has been established for the ugly incident. The hostages held by the gunman were released unharmed on Friday, June 24, 2016.
