FRENCH PRESIDENT EMMANUEL MACRON TO VISIT WEST AFRICA DAYS AFTER OFFICIALLY TAKING OVER.

President Emmanuel Macron of France will make his first African trip days after officially taking over as the French president.  According to the report our correspondent gathered, President Macron is expected to visit troops fighting insurgents in Mali on Thursday and Friday this week. France joined United Nations troops in fighting militancy in the Sahel region under the Operation “Barkhane mission”. President Macron’s predecessor (Francois Hollande) visited Mali in January 2017 during a security summit in Bamako (Mail capital). Mali is known as the deadliest war front for United Nation peacekeepers, not less than 20 UN peacekeepers were killed last year (2016).
