FRANCE HAS ELECTED A NEW PRESIDENT; A 39-YEAR-OLD FORMER INVESTMENT BANKER, EMMANUEL MACRON.

The 39-year-old former investment banker, Emmanuel Macron has been elected as France’s new president. Emmanuel Macron won France presidential election on Sunday, May 7, 2017 with votes of between 65.5 percent and 66.1 percent to defeat Le Pen (a 48 year old candidate of the National Front) who got between 33.9 percent and 34.5 percent ballots. He (Emmanuel Macron) is to succeed the outgoing President Francois Hollande who declared that he would not seek re-election thereby making him to be the first sitting president since the French Republic that did not seek re-election. France President-elect, Emmanuel Macron was born on December 21, 1977. He studied philosophy at Paris Nanterre University. At 39 years, Macron will become the youngest president in the history of France and also the youngest head of state since Napoleon. Congratulation to France president-elect, Emmanuel Macron.
