The credibility of some of these organizations around the world that have given the former President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria different awards are partly enemies of progress and development in Nigeria because some of these organizations are among the ones calling Nigeria the most corrupt nation in the world. Now what are they trying to prove by all these awards they have given to some Nigerians that have skeleton in their cupboard? A country that is as rich as Nigeria has been ruled by men who do not care about the welfare of their citizens, they dip their hands into the Nigeria treasury with impunity, stole all most all the money and send to foreign banks thereby leaving the ordinary citizens of Nigeria to suffer and at the end, some international organizations would give them awards. This is not right at all, Viewers Corner calls this type of attitude an attempt to derail the fight against corruption in Nigeria because we (Viewers Corner) believe that before an award is giving to any individual, proper investigation should be carried out and not the way these organizations are parading their awards and looking for someone to give it to and in so doing, they paint the recipient of that award as a saint which is not alright. Again knowing fully well that the former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan is not an international figure and has never held any position outside Nigeria before he became President, then we (Viewers Corner) ask these international organizations what did they know about him and his activities when he was the President and what are the criteria/reasons for all these awards? Somehow we believe that something is wrong somewhere, this is food for thought. Under Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, corruption was so rampant and at the same time celebrated to the fullest, under his leadership the type of money that was alleged to have been embezzled is uncountable and now this same individual is being giving an award, how come? Viewers Corner would advise these organizations to stop giving such award to everyone that comes their way, they should direct the award to their own citizens and leave Nigerian out of it because the war against corruption has not finally vindicated them.
We understand that the former President Goodluck Jonathan handed over power peacefully to President Buhari, sincerely that was the right thing to do as a human being. He lost the Presidential election of 2015, therefore the only choice for him was to step down and allow the winner to carry on. Honestly, Viewers Corner does not know why he should be praised for doing so. Our (Viewers Corner) advice again to Nigerians is this, everyone should please play down a bit on sentiments and assist President Buhari on the fight against corruption because this is the major problem facing Nigeria. If this disease is properly cured, Nigeria will surely be fine again and the only administration to fix it nicely right now is President Buhari’s administration therefore we are appealing to all Nigerians to sincerely assist his administration in the fight to make Nigeria great again.
