FOR NIGERIA TO GROW BETTER THAN IT IS AT THE MOMENT, PEOPLE OF THE COUNTRY SHOULD GET OVER WITH SENTIMENT, OBEY THE LAWS OF THE COUNTRY AND RESPECT EACH OTHERS RELIGION.

If Nigerian leaders and the judiciary can implement the laws of the country (Nigeria) to include the rich people in the society, then that would be the beginning towards ending poverty, impunity and corruption in Nigeria. The rich people in Nigeria mostly politicians and senior government officials use their pens to steal billions of Naira and when they are caught, they use the money they stole to buy their freedom but when the poor steals, the story becomes different. The Nigerian politicians are more dangerous than armed robbers depending on the angle you view it. If the law of the country (Nigeria) is sincerely applied, when a politician who stole billions of Naira from the treasury of Nigeria is caught and punished, then it will deter others from doing criminal activities in the country (Nigeria). The Nigerian politicians are always united when they want to share their loots but divided when issues of who would mount on the seat of power is raised most especially if the Nigerian public want to elect an honest leader to office who they believe would get the job done properly. Another problem in our (Viewers Corner News team) opinion is sentiment. Look at Diezani Allison Madueke who was the ex-minister of petroleum in Nigeria. This woman is among those who almost destroyed the economy of Nigeria through looting which is a well known fact but each time her issue is raised, some people from her region would say, “Is she the only thief in Nigeria, why calling her names”. Honestly such statement is only encouraging people to steal more because they know that their people will always back them but if sentiment and emotion should be put aside to let the law of Nigeria take its due course, then that will automatically strengthen the system. Look at those who embezzled billions of Naira in the Nigerian pension fund and in other places, till today no one is talking about them but the moment such issues are raised, most definitely people from their regions would start asking if they are the only thieves in Nigeria. Also the judiciary of Nigeria which is believed to be very corrupt is another problem. Based on our findings, judges are allegedly collecting huge bribes on some high profile cases in Nigeria which is completely bad. This group of judges including some lawyers who are their agents have failed the people of Nigeria in all aspect to uphold the integrity of their profession. Right now, some of those corrupt judges are still much around in Nigeria deliberating and making decisions on matters of importance in the country (Nigeria) which should not have been so. Until they are fished out, punished and benched forever, the country (Nigeria) may not move forward. Judiciary is the power house of any democracy, please get it adequately protected and strengthen. Offenders of law in Nigeria should be made to pay the price. It should not be the poor alone who the laws should be applied to, it should also include the rich ones. No sentiment should be attached to it.
