Viewers Corner News correspondent in Moscow learnt that Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan has finally tendered an apology to Russian President, Vladimir Putin for downing a Russian military jet at the Syrian border. The news was made public recently by President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman (Dmitry Peskov).
On November last year (2015), a Russian Su-24 bomber was shot down at the Syrian border by Turkey, saying that the fighter jet violates its airspace and president Vladimir Putin of Russia said that he expected an apology from Turkish government but Turkey never apologized. The same last year, Russia imposed an import ban on Turkish foodstuff, cancelled tour packages to Turkey and many other trade restrictions were introduced. It is a good thing that president Recep Tayyip Erdogan finally realized his mistake and apologize to Moscow so that the two countries would join hands in fighting terrorism in the region.
