FINALLY, MYANMAR HAS ELECTED A DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENT, MR. HTIN KYAW AFTER DECADES OF BRUTAL RULE BY THE COUNTRY’S MILITARY JUNTAS.

Viewers Corner was informed that Myanmar has elected her first democratic president on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 after decades of military rule in the country (Myanmar) and he is Mr. Htin Kyaw. According to report, president Htin Kyaw is a close confidant of Aung San Suu Kyi (the great woman of Myanmar and also a Nobel laureate). Htin Kyaw is 69 years old and the son of a poet. Htin Kyaw  helped Aung San Suu Kyi (his childhood friend) with her political party, NLD when Myanmar was under military rule and ended up in the junta’s prison along with other pro-democracy activists.

During the Myanmar’s general election on November 8, 2015, Aung Suu Kyi led her political party (NLD) to a landslide victory after decades of brutal rule by the military jaunts in the country (Myanmar). Congratulations to Mr. Htin Kyaw, the new president of Myanmar.
