Faustin Archange Touadera, the newly elected President of Central African Republic promised to ensure peace and unity in the country. Faustin Archange Touadera, a former prime minister was declared a winner after defeating his opponent, Anicet Georges Dologuele in the country’s national election held on Saturday, February 14, 2016. He polled 63 percent of the total votes and Anicet Georges Dologuele has conceded defeat.
Faustin Archange Touadera has great tasks to restore peace and unity in Central African Republic considering the unrest in the country after over two years of sectarian fighting in which thousands of the citizens have died and about 500,000 people fled to neighbouring countries. Touadera also promised creating jobs and reducing poverty in his country, Central African Republic.
