The former governor of Akwa Ibom state in Nigeria, Godswill Akpabio may have done a good job in the state when he was the governor of Akwa-Ibom state but lots of questions were left unanswered. He allegedly left huge debt of about 64.4 billion Naira for his predecessor to carry but during ex-president Goodluck Jonathan reelection campaign, he was among those who single-handedly donated 5 billion Naira for Jonathan’s campaign. How did he get such huge amount of money to donate for that purpose? Again during his tenure as the governor of Akwa Ibom state, lots of people were there struggling to make ends meet, no proper welfare facilities were made available for the people of the state. Normally as a governor, the first thing should have been the creation of good infrastructural facilities for the people of the state because that is what you all are elected to do but unfortunately almost all the leaders in Africa immediately they are sworn into office, their promises are thrown into a trash box leaving the people to suffer. This is not right.
Time has come for leaders to show concern towards the people they are leading, create better conditions for them because that is what you owe them. Please say no to corruption, selfishness, greed and the I don’t care attitude which most of the leaders have been showing towards their people. Let everyone have a new beginning most especially the Nigerian politicians, with this hopefully they would be able to create more possibilities for development which would at the end bring benefits to the citizens of the country (Nigeria).
