EUROPEAN UNION LAWMAKERS HAVE CALLED FOR A TEMPORARY HALT ON TURKEY EUROPEAN UNION MEMBERSHIP TALKS.

Viewers Corner News correspondent in Brussels learned that European Union lawmakers have called for a halt to European Union membership talks to Turkey. The advice was given on recently due to Turkish government’s action on the country’s failed coup which happened on July 2016. According to the information, the Members of the European Parliament voted 479 to 37 in favour of the motion thereby calling on the European Commission and national governments to freeze all negotiations that have been going on for 11 years concerning Turkey membership of the European Union. The European Parliament strongly condemned the harsh measures taken since the July failed coup by the Turkish government under the leadership of  President Tayyip Erdogan.  Turkey president, Erdogan accused the European Union of failing to understand his country’s stand on the July failed coup and he equally threaten European Union of his country joining a security alliance run by Russia and China if the EU stops the talks on Turkey EU membership.
