Recently a rally was held as directed by Governor David Umahi in Abakiliki, the capital of Ebonyi state and Viewers Corner News correspondent learnt that Governor David Umahi through one of his usual ways asked the two major markets in Abakiliki (Abakpa Main Market and Building Material Market) to close in order to show support for him. Viewers Corner News analysis on this is that Governor David Umahi’s government is becoming unpopular in Ebonyi state therefore he is using this system to explain to the Nigeria people that he is well liked in Ebonyi state but for how long would he stay on this game? Again, what we (Viewers Corner News team) do not understand is, why are the law makers in Ebonyi state not saying much to control his excesses in the state? For these markets to have closed down just because few people in the state want to show support to Governor Umahi is an economic waste.
The day these markets were closed down, lots of money may have been lost in the state, this is too bad. Again, our correspondent learnt that Governor David Umahi recently asked for three billion naira which the Ebonyi state house of assembly approved and what this money would be used for is to bring back the Ebonyi state indigenes who are scattered in most cities across Nigeria hawking and doing all sorts of things to make ends meet. This is a good idea but our (Viewers Corner News) take on this is, would the money be used for the purpose in which it was granted for? The answer may be NO because David Umahi and his colleagues do not care about the welfare of Ebonyi state people, this is another means for him and his group to enrich themselves. The question we are asking the government of David Umahi concerning this is; what has his government done to improve the lives of Ebonyi people living in the state before extending it to those outside Ebonyi state? His government should firstly care for those in the state if he sincerely wants to improve the lives of his people because one adage says, “Charity begins at Home”. What Viewers Corner News is trying to point out here is that Governor Umahi should change his leadership style, be there for the people of Ebonyi state because his government owe them the duty of making sure that everyone in the state is well cared for. Viewers Corner News is pleading that Governor Umahi learns from Governor Obiano of Anambra state. He is doing great in his state, Anambra and our research shows that Governor Obiano is among the best Governors in Nigeria. He is trying his best to create good conditions for the people of Anambra state, Viewers Corner News appreciates his work. Hopefully, as soon as Governor David Umahi starts doing the right thing for the people of Ebonyi state, Viewers Corner News would write about it. Therefore we advise him to please create facilities that would better the lives of Ebonyi state people so that he can be in the good books of great citizens of the world.
