Venezuelan crude oil

DESPITE THE UNITED STATES SANCTIONS, VENEZUELA HAS RESUMED DIRECT SHIPMENTS OF CRUDE OIL TO CHINA.

It was reported that Venezuela has resumed direct shipments of oil to China, despite the United States sanctions. Chinese state companies, China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC) and its subsidiary PetroChina in August 2019 stopped loading crude oil at Venezuelan ports after U.S sanctioned Venezuela’s state-run oil company (Petróleos de Venezuela or PDVSA) and any companies trading with the Venezuelan state company. President Donald Trump’s government imposition of sanctions was to remove President Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela from seat but President Maduro’s grip on power is still strong. According to the report, the first tanker to transport Venezuelan crude oil direct to China was the Kyoto. Another tanker, the Warrior King was also seen discharging Venezuelan crude oil at Bayuquan port in China.
