DESPITE CRISTIANO RONALDO’S DEPARTURE AFTER 20 MINUTES, PORTUGAL OVERCAME FRANCE TO WIN EURO 2016.

Portugal has won 2016 European Championship after defeating France at Stade de France on Sunday, July 10, 2016. It was a big shock to France (host country) after Portugal crushed their hopes in the final game at Stade de France after Eder’s 1-0 extra time goal. Despite the departure of the Portuguese biggest star (Cristiano Ronaldo) after 25 minutes of the match (first half) due to the injury he sustained, Portuguese were able to claim the Euro 2016 title. The 31-year-old Real Madrid star tried to play with bandaged knee after hurting his left leg when he collided with Dimitri Payet (the French star) but he later gave up and was replaced with Ricardo Quaresma. He felt bad but in the end, his wish came true. This is the country’s (Portugal) first European Championship title and Cristiano Ronaldo now has a first international title to add to the Champions League he won with Real Madrid in May.
Jose Mourinho, Manchester United boss celebrated Portugal’s Euro 2016 victory at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester. He posted his picture wearing pyjamas and holding a Portugal scarf up in his instagram account while celebrating his country’s victory. Congratulations to Portugal.
