CROATIA HAS ELECTED THE FORMER PRIME MINISTER, ZORAN MILANOVIC AS THE COUNTRY’S NEW PRESIDENT. CONGRATULATIONS.

The former prime minister of Croatia, Zoran Milanovic (53 years) has defeated the incumbent president Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic (51 years) in the run-off of Croatia’s presidential election. Mr Zoran Milanovic, the Social Democrat candidate won the presidential election with 52.7 percent of the vote while his opponent, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic got 47.3 percent of the vote. After the result of the election was announced, Mr Milanovic promised not to make divisions among the Croatian citizens, especially when it comes to the things they are sensitive about. The outgoing president, Ms Grabar-Kitarovic who was elected Croatia’s first female president in January 2015 conceded defeat and wished her opponent success. Mr Zoran Milanovic will take over office on 19 February 2020.
