COULD IT BE TRUE THAT THOUSANDS OF JOBS WOULD BE LOST AS A RESULT OF THE BAN IMPOSED ON THE IMPORTATION OF CARS THROUGH LAND BORDERS WHICH THE LAWMAKERS IN NIGERIA HAD ALREADY REJECTED?

First thing first, the recent rejection by the lawmakers in Nigeria concerning the importation of cars through land borders as they claimed would result to loss of thousands of jobs in the country (Nigeria). If this is true, then the lawmakers in Nigeria have a point and should be commended. President Buhari and his government is doing a great job in the country and will always get the support of Viewers Corner News team. In our past articles we mentioned that certain economic policies being implemented by the APC/president Buhari’s led government have not been thought through before taking decision on them. We have also pointed out in the past that democracy is government of the people which has generally been accepted by almost every nation around the world as the best system of government, therefore no matter how our leaders do things to protect certain aspects of their policies, they should put the welfare of the citizens first because democracy can not be successful if the people of the country are not benefiting from the democratic process. Before president Buhari and his government would impose a ban on any item coming into the country through land borders, proper study should have been made but the way it is now, it looks like such practice is lacking and this should be the fault of the economic team/advisers if there are any in president Buhari’s government. They should be able to advise the federal government properly on economic management as it affects any banned item. We are saying so based on the rejection made by the lawmakers in Nigeria concerning the ban on importation of cars through land borders because in any system of government, if certain policies would create loss of jobs in the country it should not be implemented. Now in Nigeria there is recession which is already hitting the people of the country (Nigeria) in a severe manner and now thousands of jobless individuals would join those existing ones assuming the ban on importation of cars through land borders is enforced based on what the lawmakers said. This would create more problems in the country (Nigeria), therefore the Nigerian lawmakers did well by rejecting this ban. However we (Viewers Corner News team) would use this opportunity to plead with president Buhari’s government to ask the economic team/advisers if there are any to kindly study the system properly and come up with a more solid economic plan that would put Nigerians to work. They should be more cash flow in the economy of the country and any policy that would cause or create loss of jobs in the country (Nigeria) should not be implemented no matter the situation, instead let the government devise alternative plans which would enable them achieve their target.  Again the welfare of all Nigerians should be the number one priority of the government. We pray and hope that president Buhari and his government should achieve this objective nicely.
