COMMON WEALTH COMMENDS PRESIDENT BUHARI OF NIGERIA FOR HIS LEADERSHIP ROLE IN TRYING TO UNITE AFRICAN LEADERS.

President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria was commended by the Royal Commonwealth Society for his leadership role in trying to unite African leaders. This was made known by Mr Abdullahi Faruk, the Vice President of Royal Commonwealth Society during the 2016 Commonwealth Day Celebration held on Thursday, March 10, 2016 in Abuja (Nigeria). According to Mr Abdullahi Faruk, the organization applauds President Buhari for his efforts in reshaping Nigeria for better and also ensuring that there is good relationship among African leaders. He also stated that Commonwealth society which comprises of 53 member countries around the world is aimed at promoting good governance, human rights, mass literacy, democracy, sustainable growth and eradication of poverty, HIV/AIDS around the world. Yakubu Dogara, the Speaker House of Representatives was also honoured by the organization with the Commonwealth Ambassador’s Award for distinguishing himself in the course of democracy.
