Viewers Corner News correspondent learned that the notorious Hippie cult leader and killer, Charles Manson has died of natural causes at a Kern County hospital on Sunday, November 19, 2017 after spent nearly a half-century in prison. In August, 1969, Charles Manson’s followers murdered Sharon Tate (actress who was 8½ months pregnant), Abigail Folger (coffee heiress), Jay Sebring (celebrity hairdresser), Voityck Frykowski (Polish movie director) and Steven Parent at Tate’s home in Los Angeles during the summer of 1969. Then the following night, Leno (a wealthy grocer and his wife, Rosemary LaBianca) were stabbed to death in their home across town. One of his (Charles Manson) followers who was arrested three months later confessed to the murder which led to the arrest of Charles Manson. During his trial, Manson maintained that he was innocent despite evidences against him. He was found guilty of murder with his three followers (Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwinkel and Leslie Van Houten) and were sentenced to death. They were spared execution and handed life in prison after the California Supreme Court struck down the death penalty in 1972. Susan Atkins died in prison in 2009 while Patricia Krenwinkel and Leslie Van Houten are still in the prison.
