Caroline Wozniacki defeated Simona Halep (Romanian) 7-6, 3-6, 6-4 to win 2018 Australian Open women’s title on Saturday, January 27, 2018. The 27-year-old won Australian Open trophy (Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup) after a dramatic three-set over Simona Halep at Rod Laver Arena. After six years, Wozniacki has regained world number one status, replacing Halep at the top of the rankings. She (Caroline Wozniacki) made an incredible turnaround after dropping as low as Number 74 in the ranking as at August 2016. This is Wozniacki’s first-time grand slam title, congratulations.
