CAPE VERDE MAIN OPPOSITION PARTY (MOVEMENT FOR DEMOCRACY) HAS WON THE COUNTRY’S PARLIAMENTARY ELECTION.

Viewers Corner’s correspondent in Praia learnt that the main opposition party in Cape Verde (Movement for Democracy) has taken power from African Party for the Independence of Cape Verde (PAICV) after fifteen years of leading the country’s parliament. The Movement for Democracy (MpD) won the country’s just concluded parliamentary election by polling 53.7 percent votes as against 37 percent of African Party for the Independence of Cape Verde (PAICV). A presidential election which the date is yet to be fixed would be held this year (2016). Congratulations to Movement for Democracy (MpD).
