CAMBODIA AUTHORITIES HAVE DEPORTED EIGHTY NINE CHINESE CITIZENS ACCUSED OF DEFRAUDING PEOPLE ONLINE.

Eighty nine Chinese citizens accused of defrauding people online have been deported to China by Cambodian government. These suspected fraudsters which includes 15 women were arrested last month (March) and were flown out of Phnom Penh (Cambodian capital) recently on two planes sent by the Chinese government. According to the report, the suspects contacted women in China through social media and tricked them into sending nude or erotic photos, then extorted money from them by threatening to spread the nude images online. These online scams by Chinese gangs operating outside China are common in Southeast Asia. Since 2012, Cambodian government had deported about 1,000 Chinese and Taiwanese citizens involved in such online scams to China.
