The best thing Bukola Saraki (the Nigerian Senate President) would have done concerning the allegations against him on false asset declaration issue would have been to seek a plea bargain and save himself the embarrassment of being sent out of national assembly in a disgraceful manner as the senate president of Nigeria but his lawyers are not being fair to him (Bukola Saraki) most probably because of the money involved which the lawyers may get from him for services rendered as the case drags on. Somehow Bukola Saraki may have spent lots of money on this case which his lawyers are fighting to make sure he is freed, even the lawyers themselves know that there is no way Bukola Saraki can win this case because all the accusations against him based on the evidence before the tribunal seems to be real. One thing for sure is this, the lawyers can delay the process but certainly would not bring Bukola Saraki out of this problem he has put himself.
There are lots of people asking him to resign as the senate president of Nigeria because the allegations against him seems to be true. Even if it has not been proven to a conclusive end, normally he should have stepped aside pending when the case is concluded. This is what Bukola Saraki should have done if he has the interest of Nigeria in his mind, however people in Nigeria and around the world are watching to see how this case plays out. Let the rule of law prevail.
