Viewers Corner News was informed that the British American Tobacco PLC has offered a deal worth $47 billion to takeover 58% of Reynolds American Inc. According to the information, the deal would create world’s largest listed tobacco company by revenue and profit. British American Tobacco already has a share of 42.2% of Reynolds. Reynolds American Inc stated on Friday that it acknowledges British American Tobacco offer and its board will evaluate the offer and respond. In 2015, Reynolds acquired Lorillard Inc. at $25 billion and that deal made Reynolds to sell its Kool, Salem, Winston cigarette brands and Lorillard’s Maverick to Britain’s Imperial Brands PLC (formerly Imperial Tobacco Group PLC) for $7.1 billion.
