BASED ON THE CONSTITUTION, EVERY CONSTITUENCY IN NIGERIA MUST BE REPRESENTED AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL, HENCE THE NUMBER OF LAWMAKERS IN THE NIGERIA’S NATIONAL ASSEMBLY.

Senator Rochas Okorocha and governor Fayemi of Ekiti state (Nigeria) and their views concerning the Senate is good but should not be an option. As experts on political matters, we (Viewers Corner News team) are advocating a complete reduction of salaries and allowances of the lawmakers at the national assembly. Make it unattractive for them, let those with wisdom and love for Nigeria go there to discuss and implement issues that would take the country (Nigeria) to the next level. A corrupt governor in Nigeria after completing his or her tenure would end up returning to the national assembly to continue looting again, all these should be stopped. The constitution of Nigeria may have allowed the number of lawmakers at the national assembly to be so which should remain as it is, the problem is the pay cheques of the lawmakers in Nigeria. It is huge which should be cut down and in a country where 30,000 Naira minimum wage per month for a worker is too much for the government to pay, still the lawmakers take home millions of money on monthly basis. This is not right and should be looked into. In doing so, it would save lots of money for the country (Nigeria). We (Viewers Corner News team) would also suggest that those who have reached the retirement age should go and enjoy their retirement, give the younger ones the opportunity to serve their father’s land. Democracy is about change. If you look at the set up of Nigeria, it is still the same old people who have been in government for years that are still there till today. They have refused to leave office for the younger ones to manage the affairs of the country (Nigeria) which is the truth.
