AUSTRALIA DONATES 475,000 AUSTRALIAN DOLLARS (US $377,000) TO HELP SRI LANKA FIGHT DENGUE FEVER OUT BREAK.

Viewers Corner News correspondent learned that Australia government is donating 475,000 Australian dollars (US $377,000) to Sri Lanka in order to assist the country fight its worst outbreak of dengue fever. The fever (Dengue) has infected about 100,000 people and has claimed lives of over 250 Sri Lanka’s people this year. Julie Bishop (Australian Foreign Minister) said that Australia has given the fund to the World Health Organization (WHO) to implement immediate dengue prevention, management and eradication programs in Sri Lanka. According to report, Sri Lanka government has deployed health workers, police and soldiers to inspect houses, clear rotten garbage, stagnant water pools and other potential mosquito-breeding grounds across the country.
