The majority of Nigerians, most especially from the southern part of the country, see Mr. Sunday Igboho and Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as activists agitating for their people who they believe are not treated fairly in Nigeria. They are calling for their people to leave Nigeria and have their own nations (Biafra and Oduduwa Republic). In our opinion, as long as Nigeria is practising a democratic system of government, their agitations are in order, so long as it is done through a peaceful means to pass their messages across to the people of Nigeria. Any use of violence, both by the agitators and the authorities of the country, should not be encouraged or allowed. However, now that those at the forefront of these agitations have been arrested, they should be handled with care. The government of Nigeria at the moment has lots of insecurity issues on the table, especially in the northern part of the country, which is proving difficult to end. It would not be in the best interest of the people of Nigeria to start another issue that would cause disunity in the country. Hence, the Viewers Corner News team is appealing to the federal government of Nigeria to tread carefully and treat Sunday Igboho and Nnamdi Kanu’s issues with fairness and justice.
