The 27-year-old Arianna Fontana has been selected to carry Italy’s flag for the opening ceremony at the Pyeongchang Olympics in February 2018. Arianna Fontana who was selected ahead of Christof Innerhofer (Alpine skier) was presented at the Italian Olympic Committee on Tuesday, October 24, 2017. Fontana (short track speedskater) has won five Olympic medals, 14 world championship medals and 34 European championship medals since her career. At the 2006 Turin Olympic Winter Games which was her first Olympics, she won bronze in the 3,000-meter relay at the age of 15 years.
