ARCHBISHOP CYPRIAN KIZITO LWANGA OF UGANDA MISSED A POINT WHEN HE SAID THAT WORKERS PAY TAX TO CHURCHES IN GERMANY TO TAKE CARE OF THE CHURCH. NOT ONLY THAT, IT IS BIGGER THAN THAT.

In Germany, it is true that workers pay tax to churches which is called in German language; Kirchen steuer. Workers in Germany pay this tax (Kirchen steuer) to churches in order to assist the German government in providing some services to humanity. Again in Germany, Churches are among the biggest employer of labour in the country (Germany). They assist the German government in various ways up to schools and hospitals and many more. The assistance they provide is very huge but in Africa today, tithes paid by church members which runs into millions of dollars are used by some pastors for personal reasons. Most pastors in Africa have different jet-planes carrying them around instead of using the money collected from members to provide good services for the people. This is the difference between Germany and other countries, therefore suggesting that Uganda government should make provision where workers salaries should be deducted and pay to the church may not be the right way to go until some loopholes are properly covered to avoid mismanagement of funds.
Again, church business is huge in Africa. Some pastors use it to enrich themselves instead of following the teachings of Almighty God. We (Viewers Corner News team) are pleading with pastors and their churches in Africa to emulate the good works of other churches in advance countries of the world and act accordingly by being your brother’s keepers. Churches should always be there to render assistance to those who need them the most which is part of God’s work.
