It is very appropriate for someone to fight for his or her right most especially when the person is convinced that his or her right is denied or violated which is the basis of rule of law but in Nyesom Wike’s situation Viewers Corner studied it and gave a sincere advice to him. We suggested that Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state (Nigeria) should accept the decision of the election tribunal in good faith which in Viewers Corner’s opinion was a fair judgement. The tribunal ordered a fresh election in the state (Rivers state) because the evidence before the tribunal were not convincing and it was also gathered that they were lots of manipulations during the election process. Honestly the tribunal gave a very good and honest judgement therefore instead of wasting time appealing to a higher court (Appeal court) to have the tribunal decision changed to his own favour because he claimed to have won the election as at that time, we advised Governor Wike in the past to take the option he was given which is to have a rerun in Rivers state. If Nyesom Wike is sincere that there were no manipulations during the last election which brought him to power as governor, this time around he should prove to the Nigerian public that he won the election convincingly and if the election is held again that he would still win the mandate of the people instead of going further and wasting precious time and state resources on things that are not relevant.
Our (Viewers Corner) advice to Nyesom Wike again is to concentrate on doing the right thing in the state, you should apologize to all the people you may have crossed their part in the past and redirect your campaign programs towards the people of Rivers state. You should humble yourself at all times, who knows you may be lucky to win the election this time without manipulation as alleged. This is just an advice from Viewers Corner because going further to another higher court (Supreme Court) with this case may also yield the same result as what you have now therefore concentrate on Rivers state people, reassemble a good campaign team and get your message nicely to the people of Rivers state.
