No doubt about it, APC/president Buhari led government remains the best since Nigeria gained her independent from Britain in 1960 because of his ability and willingness to fight and eradicate corruption which is a major disease that has eaten so deep in the country (Nigeria). Believe it or not, president Buhari’s government is doing nicely on that, sincerely great people around the world has given president Buhari’s government a credit for doing so which is very good but his economic policies are questionable. Now is one year since he took over the mantle of leadership from ex-president Goodluck Jonathan/P.D.P led government who created most of the economic problems the citizens of Nigeria are passing through till today but again the extension of that problem is what president Buhari’s government is battling to solve and if not handled with care, may create huge problems for the APC/president Buhari’s led government. This issue of fuel increase which prompted citizens of Nigeria to go on protest including various workers Union in the country (Nigeria) may not go down nicely in the next election (2019) if not handled properly. Time flies so fast and very soon four years would be in the doorstep of everyone, if the hardship still continues the way it is at the moment then APC/president Buhari’s government may not be able to convince the Nigerian public to vote for them again. Therefore we (Viewers corner) would advise that the price of fuel be returned to the usual price which the citizens of Nigeria were buying pending when APC/president’s Buhari economic team, if there is any would work out a more better plan to solve these pressing issues. Times are hard, people can barely feed well in the country (Nigeria) and now the government has increased the price of fuel or withdrawn the subsidy if there is any in the first place. However this is something that needs careful planning, again increasing prices of various items may not be the best at this point. Honestly this will bring more hardship to the citizens of Nigeria added to the ones they are passing through already.
We sincerely believe that the welfare of every citizen should be the responsibility of any functional government. Please now that the citizens of Nigeria are saying no to any sort of increase, we suggest that president Buhari’s government should listen to the voice of the people and do the right thing.
