It is no longer news on how APC/president Buhari’s led government is using the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to harass some Nigerians who criticise the government on issues of poor economy and insecurity in the country. It was revealed how a Human Right lawyer in Nigeria (Mike Ozekhome, SAN) was constantly harassed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of Nigeria. His offence according to Viewers Corner News correspondent in Abuja was speaking out on so many issues where APC/president Buhari’s led government failed completely. One good thing is that the federal high court in Abuja has restrained the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of Nigeria from harassing Mr Mike Ozekhome (SAN) which is nice. In democracy, those who sit at the corner watching should be able to point out mistakes to the authorities most especially when things are not going well, so that solution can be found to such problems as quickly as possible but in APC/president Buhari’s led government, such criticism may earn anyone an arrest which should not have been so in a democracy. In 2014, President Buhari led some Nigerians in a protest, criticising the government of ex-president Goodluck Jonathan as incompetent which is allowed in a democracy but now that his government is not performing properly, those who criticise President Buhari and his government are being called to order which is wrong. This unaccommodating ways of APC/president Buhari’s led government may not give the political party (APC) a win in the general elections come 2023, unless they change their attitude towards the people of Nigeria for good. Again, there is still time for APC/president Buhari’s led government to put things right before 2023 general elections if the political party (APC) wants to remain relevant and hold on to power beyond 2023.
