They have started speaking out against the way and manner in which the government of Nigeria, under the leadership of President Buhari, is handling the security situation and the economy of Nigeria. They said that, if they could criticize ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, called him all sorts of terrible names when things were going wrong in his government which is not even up to what the people of Nigeria are passing through in president Buhari’s administration, it is the duty of those elders to point it out to president Buhari and his government. They said that kidnappers would comfortably go into schools and other facilities across Nigeria and kidnap Nigerians without the security operatives in the country tracking and apprehending them. Such acts of recklessness should not be condoned. They identified such a problem as a leadership failure of President Buhari’s government. In a country like Nigeria, where you have the ministry of communication headed by a minister believed to be qualified for the job, the kidnappers still use their cellphones to make calls and demand for ransom in billions without the communication and digital minister and his ministry tracking those kidnappers. Such an attitude and failure by the government of Nigeria is giving the people of the country reasons to keep asking questions, if the government of Nigeria has a part to play in the terrible problems befalling the country. Recently, it was alleged that NYSC members serving in some parts of Nigeria were told to inform their parents to make some money available while travelling, should they be kidnapped on the way, so that their parents would have money to pay the kidnappers to release them. This is the most horrible statement the Viewers Corner News team has ever heard in years. Like we have been saying, it is only the truth that can save Nigeria. Hence, the Viewers Corner News team will continue to plead with the people of Nigeria to keep on speaking the truth so that the government of Nigeria will start to do good things for the people of the country.
