About eighteen (18) people were wounded and many houses destroyed in Iran (Kerman province) on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 when an earthquake of 6.2 magnitude hit the province. The earthquake struck at a depth of 57 kilometers (35 miles) according to the United States Geological Survey which recorded it. Fortunately, no death was reported. Iran is constantly affected by earthquakes, last month (November), 600 people died when an earthquake of 7.2 magnitude hit western Iran. Also in 2003, another earthquake of 6.6 magnitude struck the city of Bam which claimed the lives of 26,000 people.
