A 17-year-old Afghan refugee in Germany attacked train passengers with an axe and a knife, seriously wounded four people in a regional train near the southern city of Wurzburg. The ugly incident happened on the train which runs between Treuchlingen and Wurzburg, the German police chased the attacker and shot him dead while trying to escape the scene. Three people (a family from Hong Kong) were seriously injured by the assailant, one person was slightly injured while the other 14 persons were treated for shock.
Joachim Herrmann, the interior minister of Bavaria state said that the Afghan refugee arrived Germany as an unaccompanied minor and had lived in the refugee camp before moving in with a foster family in nearby town of Ochsenfurt. According to report, investigation is on going to determine the motive for the attack and also if the young assailant acted alone.
