We (Viewers corner) have heard series of allegations against the senate president of Nigeria (Bukola Saraki) starting from when he was leading kwara state and up till now, even the recent Panama paper leak, his name was also mentioned. How long would Nigeria keep such a name as the number three man in the country with lots of alleged corruption tied on his neck? This is not a good business for the country (Nigeria), leaders should lead by showing good examples for others to follow most especially now that a cleanup is being undertaken by president Buhari’s administration to sanitize the country from corruption. We also heard how some vital documents were allegedly destroyed which would have implicated the senate president of Nigeria (Bukola Saraki) on some issues and his alleged false assets declaration knowing fully well that the law of the country (Nigeria) forbids that. Normally a good leader with conscience having been involved in series of scandals should stay aside for now until the case against him is determined by the court of law. He should not be deliberating on national issues and another terrible aspect is that some of his close associates are not telling him the truth because some of them are also guilty of similar offence. How can a country gain proper recognition in the eyes of the world when leaders who are supposed to lead by example have lots of skeletons in their cupboard, this is terrible. Honestly if it were in some countries abroad, for the simple reason that such name has been linked to series of alleged crimes, is more than enough for an individual to step down but in Nigeria own situation, they will never step down even if they are caught on the act. They would prefer to manipulate the law so as to remain in power forever or they may hang their mistakes on another person’s shoulder just like Bukola Saraki’s case which is an example of that. However no matter how you argue it, the evidence is clear on this false assets declaration issue therefore it would be better for Bukala Saraki (the Nigerian Senate president) to find a common ground and apologized instead of creating publicity that are not necessary which would at the end dent his image as the senate president of Nigeria. We also gathered that all the suggestions given to Bukola Saraki in the past by some Senators for him to step down were never considered by him. Anyhow it is, Nigerians both home and abroad are watching with keen interest to know how the case would end.
