Viewers Corner News correspondent learned that over 2.5 million vehicles will be recalled in China by General Motors (GM) due to faulty airbags made by Japanese Takata. Vehicles to recall shall start from next month (October) by US General Motors (GM) and its joint venture partner, Shanghai GM. We also learned that the defect has been linked to about 16 deaths and many were injured, also the faulty airbags will be replaced for free. Japanese Takata has recalled up to 100 million airbags which the company produced for some of the world automakers including about 70 million in United States due to faulty airbags. Last week, it was announced that Volkswagen (German automaker) and it’s joint ventures will recall about 4.86 million vehicles in China due to the same airbag problem.
