Viewers Corner News correspondent learned that Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, the President of Mauritius has resigned on Saturday after being entangled with credit card scandal. The only Africa’s female head of state was accused of using a credit card provided by an NGO to make personal purchases, including jewellery and luxury goods worth up to 25,000 euros. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim vowed before never to step down, saying that she unintentionally used a bank card to purchase personal items. According to her lawyer (Yousouf Mohamed), her resignation will take effect from March 23, 2018.
