Viewers Corner News gathered from our source in Lagos (Nigeria) that the Lagos state Governor, Ambode George has ordered that about 53 churches, mosques and hotels across the state be closed down over noise pollution and other environmental ills. This is a welcome news because lots of people do not know when an individual is being disturbed, this attitude is rampant in the third world countries most especially in some cities in Nigeria. For instance, in Portharcourt this same noise making by Churches in most residential areas is becoming too much, their loud speakers produce loud noise both on Sundays and normal working days and also at night. Again in some areas in Porharcourt (Nigeria), most Churches have none stop services which is disturbing, this is not right. However no one is asking them not to serve their God but they should do it in a more civilized manner so that people living within the environment should not be disturbed day and night. Viewers Corner News is appealing to other Governors in various states of Nigeria to take example from what the Lagos state Governor, Ambode George did concerning noise pollution. We (Viewers Corner News) advise the governments in various states of Nigeria to create awareness programs that can educate the citizens on the terrible effect of noise pollution.
