Alexis Tsipras who was elected on January as the prime minister of Greece has resigned.
He announced his resignation in a television broadcast on Thursday, August 20, 2015 and this means an early election in Greece to fill his post. Alexis Tsipras met Greece President, Prokopis Pavlopoulos on Thursday evening to submit his resignation and caretaker government will run Greece before the polls.
